Depicted here is the 11th Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court: Charles Evans Hughes #62 (1862-1948) who autographed a professional photo by Moffitt of Chicago and by whom Charles Evans Hughes autographs the photo to Earle Linde and dates it as October 5, 1910, which is after he resigned as an Associate Justice to become a candidate for President. He lost. He was later nominated for and was received as Chief Justice in 1930.

Attached is a magazine print of the Chief Justice and a photograph depicting the Chiefs wife Antoinette and daughter. A picture of him at an awards banquet, a first day cover reflecting his likeness postmarked Washington 1962 (after his death) and a picture of the Hughes court with the longest sitting justice at that time Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. (the board is larger than usual as it is 24 x 36 inches.)
