Earl Warren, 14th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Warren was nominated as Chief Justice by President Eisenhower who was later to have said that it was the dumbest decision of hie entire life. (“D “ day was pretty extreme.). Warren in the space of 16 years with the help of 16 Justices changed the face of America. In the board here is a letter written by Warren as California’s republican Governor. The letter was written a supporter Dr. peers on July 12, 1948 on personal letterhead. There are five pictures attached to the board: 1. a picture of the newly appointed Chief touring the federal building. 2. A picture of Warren, Clark and Harlan II with their wives, Nina, Mary and Ethel . 3. Eisenhower celebrating his Presidential victory. 4. Warren taking a picture with newly elected Chief Warren Burger. And 5. Leaving his home. There is a first day cover done by artist Pugh, who autographed his effort and numbers it 45/72. Its postmarked March 9, 1992. (it is noted Warrens father Matt was murdered in Bakersfield, California in 1938, 84 years ago. The murder unsolved, it’s still a cold case.
