Joseph Story #18 (1779-1845)
Justice Story served the United States Supreme Court from 1812-1845. Story wrote the decision of the United States v The Amistad. Story studied law under Samuel Sewell . Story graduated from Harvard Law. His son William Wetmore Story also graduated from Harvard Law and after writing books of legal significance William abandoned law and moved to Rome. He became a sculptor. He carved not only the likeness of his father at Harvard but the Angel of Grief.
