Justice Tom C. Clark #86 (1899-1977) Clark was nominated by Harry S. Truman and is the singular Justice over time from Texas. He retired after nearly eighteen years on the bench so he wouldn’t be faced with a conflict when his son Ramsey Clark was to be appointed Attorney General by President Lyndon. This board presents a chambers card autographed by Justice Clark and personalized by Clark to Ralph Norwall and dates his autograph August 4, 1969. There are four photographs presented that depict Clark, they are: 1. A posed picture in a dak suit. 2. A photograph with his son Ramsey Clark soon to be appointed Attorney General of the United States; 3. He appears with another photograph in his familiar bow tie and 4. Another showing him on an antique phone. The photograph of the Court shows him two months after he was installed as Justice posing with the Court at the swearing in of Justice Sherman Minton #87.
