Justice Stephen field #38 (1816-1899) autographs the back of a check from the bank of America for one Ms. Smith. This board includes autographed art of a portrait of Stephen Field and a photograph of a print of Fields. Field was an expert in Mexican land grants as well as a former Chief Justice of California. (He was nominated to the supreme court by Abraham Lincoln.)
