Justice black autographs a first day cover dated august 25, 1948. A stamp of the chief justice is affixed to the cover as well as a photograph of black and his wife Josephine as well as a small photo of the United States supreme court building. There is another picture of the justice with his wife Josephine and two other pictures of a very young supreme court justice who was nominated by franklin Delano Roosevelt.
