Robert Jackson #82 (1892-1954)

Board 136 - Robert Jackson #82 (1892-1954)

Robert Jackson #82 (1892-1954) Jackson autographs an undated chambers card. There are three photographs of Justice Jackson. One in his Judicial robes, one in his chambers and the Justice is talking with an unidentified person. The justice is included a postcard size photograph of the supreme court building and a display of the entire court visiting the white house. Chief Vinson is standing in the middle flanked by the host the United States President.

Jackson was once the U. S. Attorney General a spawning place, it seems, for prospective justices. Jackson, it seems was the last justice to be named to the court without a law degree, he read law the old-fashioned way.

Jackson lodged the single dissent in Korematsu v United States which affected every Japanese American citizen in California.

Board number #136.
