Tom C. Clark #86 (1899-1977)
Tom C. Clark #86 (1899-1977) served as the 59th Attorney General and in 1949 Harry S. Justice ClarTruman nominated his to the United States Supreme Court. Clark remains the singular supreme court justice from Texas to serve on the Supreme Court.
Clark was admitted to the court on August 18, 1949. He dates the chambers card bearing his signature September 22, 1949, 33 days after his confirmation.
