Sandra Day O’Connor #102 (1930 - 2023 ) is the first woman to be appointed to the United States Supreme Court . The nomination came from Ronald Reagan a former Governor of California.

O’Connor was from Arizona but studied law at Stanford university finishing 2nd in her class. The only person to score higher than O’Connor was William Rehnquist who was first in the same class. O’Connor was nominated in 1981. At the time of her appointment, she was 51 years old. The board presented here contains an autograph matted and with her undated signature on the matting itself.
