Justice Sandra Day O’Connor #102 (1930- ). Justice O’Connor retired in 2006 to care for her ill husband until he passed.

She was nominated to the post by President Ronald Reagan, from California. Justice O’Connor graduated second in her class from Stanford law. Her classmate was nominated a Justice as Justice #100 before her and was number one in the class. O’Connor is the first female to hold the post as Associate Justice.

This board presents a color photograph of the first female on the Court and incorporates a chambers card autographed by the Justice. There is also a black and white photograph of the young Justice who was unanimously accepted in 1981. There is an antique winged angel on the board as well as a photograph of the new Justice posing in front of the Supreme Court Building with the Justices husband, the Chief Justice, the Justices parents and her 3 sons.)
