14th Chief Justice of the United States was nominated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Warren was the republican Governor of California. Warren was confirmed as Chief on October 5, 1953. Warren autographs a first day cover postmarked in 1953 and dedicated to Justice according to the law. The board includes 5 photographs of the Chief. They are as follows: 1. A close-up photograph of the new chief justice as well as him walking through the lobby of the Federal Bar building. The third photograph shows him at a baseball game with Commissioner Bowie Kuhn and another; he is shown at The White House with Lyndon Johnson and the first lady “lady bird”. The last photograph shows the Chief with his new brethren on the court. He will remain in that position as Chief Justice for nearly the next 16 years and change the face of American jurisprudence. During his tenure he will change party affiliation and introduce more changes in our constitutional system of government. He led as many as 17 Justices during his term of office.
