Thurgood Marshall #96 (1908-1993) Justice Marshall was the first black man to be nominated and accepted to the supreme court.

He autographs a 4 x 5 card which is undated.

There are three autographs included herein the first depicts Marshall in his court robes. A second captures him in argument. A third shows him as a member of the burger court in an informal setting. The display includes a first day issue card of the bicentennial issue of a stamp celebrating Chief John Marshall which is a rendering by Pugh # 19 of 25.

Justice Marshall opined: “Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country.”
