On January 7, 1972, the two associate Justices to the Supreme Court nominated by President Richard Nixon, were Lewis F. Powell, Jr. #99 (1907-1998) And William Rehnquist #100 (1924-2005).

(The only other time two Justices have been sworn in on the same day was on February 2, 1790. The nominating president then was George Washington.)

Photographs of both new justices are included on the board also included is a photograph of all nine Justices including those new Justices. Both new Justices autograph first day cover cards’ Justice Powell’s envelope is postmarked September 16, 1967 while Justice Rehnquist’s card is postmarked January 6, 1966.

Both Justices offer quotes reference important rights but they seem to be inconsistent in nature.
