Earl Warren #88 (1891-1974)
Earl Warren #88 (1891-1974) was the U.S. Supreme Courts 14th Chief Justice. He was nominated by President Eisenhower and was confirmed in 1954. The Chief autographs a first day cover depicting John Jay the 1st Chief Justice postmarked December 12, 1958. There is also an antique print of John Jay attached to the board.
There are three photographs attached to the board of Chief Warren: one in chambers showing U.S. Reports. One of him waiving as he exits the Supreme Court building. There is a photograph showing President Johnson and his wife ‘Lady Bird’, Vice President Hubert Humphry with his wife Muriel and Chief Justice Earl Warren with his wife Elisbeth together at a function. The last photo is a photo of the Justices on the Supreme Court. It should be noted Chief Warren changed forever the judicial face of America during his term.
