Justice William Rehnquist #100 (1924-2005). Both Rehnquist and Powell (below) were sworn in on the same day as the 99th and 100th justice if the Supreme Court. Later, this Justice was selected as the Chief Justice with the death of Warren Burger.
Rehnquist attended Stanford in California which one might say was a breath of fresh air to the litany of Harvard grads parading onto the court.
Rehnquist autographs a first day cover envelope postmarked September 24, 1965 and displaying the stamp of Chief Justice John Marshall.
The board displays an old photograph of the supreme court building as well as a nine man photograph of the then current sitting Justices of the day.
